THE UNITED NATIONS
The United
Nations [UN] was founded - established June 26, 1945 - at meeting
of heads of state from fifty-one nations in San Francisco, CA.
It's main mission statement is to promote international peace
and security while preserving human rights. The UN, located in
New York, concerns itself with striving to resolve economic and
social issues as well as humanitarian issues.
Member nations agree to refrain from
using force against the independent of any state, and not intervene
in domestic matters of a state. Furthermore each represented
state must agree to assist the UN in its actions except for enforcement
measures as dictated by resolution vote.
