- John Quincy Adams was the first son
of a former president, John Adams, to be elected president
- He was the first president elected
without a plurality in the popular vote, and like his father,
he lost re-election
- The president often went skinny-dipping
in the Potomac River
- A Washington reporter, Anne Royale,
found the President there and requested an interview. Adams agreed
- if she would join him. She got the story
- Adams ordered the first billiard table
for the White House and promptly sent the bill to congress
- Law makers paid for the table, but
instructed the president to pay for the balls and cues
- Louisa and John Quincy were married
in England, her place of birth
- Their son was the first male child
of a president married in the White House
- The president was the first to wear
