- After the attack, Nancy hired the
services of astrologer Joan Quigley
- Her job was to map out star-aligned
safe times for the president's travel schedule aboard Air Force
One, as well as scheduling press conference dates and times for
public appearances
- In an attempt to curb his urge for
smoking, Reagan started the habit of eating jelly beans
- Reagan once worked at WHO Radio in
Iowa doing play-by-play of baseball
- During his presidency he broadcast
an inning of a nationally televised Monday night Los Angeles
Dodgers baseball game
- In 1984, just before his regular Saturday
radio address, he stated the United States was going to bomb
Russia in fifteen minutes not realizing he was jokingly talking
into a live microphone
- The incident led to a proclamation
of "National Presidential Joke Day" celebrated August
11, in his honor
